T. Carmi

T. Carmi (1925–1994) was a renowned Israeli poet and translator. Born in New York City as Carmi Charny, he moved to British Mandate Palestine in 1947. He wrote poetry in Hebrew and was known for his unique style that often incorporated biblical and modern Hebrew language. Carmi's work includes a wide range of themes such as love, existentialism, and Jewish identity. He also compiled and edited 'The Penguin Book of Hebrew Verse', which is a significant anthology of Hebrew poetry.
