Taha Husayn

Taha Husayn was a prominent and influential Egyptian writer, intellectual, and literary critic. Born on November 15, 1889, and having lost his sight at a young age, he overcame his disability to become one of the leading figures in the Arab literary world. He was a key proponent of the modernist movement in Arabic literature and a vocal advocate for educational and social reforms in Egypt. His works often dealt with themes of enlightenment and rationalism, and he was known for his critical analysis of Arabic literature and heritage. Taha Husayn's contributions to Arabic letters have made him one of the most celebrated and controversial figures in the cultural history of the Arab world. He passed away on October 28, 1973.
