Mercedes Valdivieso

Mercedes Valdivieso was a Chilean writer and feminist, considered one of the pioneers of feminist literature in Latin America. She is best known for her novel 'La Brecha' (The Gap), published in 1961, which is often cited as one of the first feminist novels in the Spanish-speaking world. Her work often challenged traditional gender roles and explored the condition of women in a patriarchal society.
