Elizabeth George Speare

Elizabeth George Speare (1908–1994) was an American writer of children's books, best known for historical novels including 'The Witch of Blackbird Pond' and 'The Bronze Bow', both of which won the Newbery Medal. Her work is acclaimed for its historical accuracy and its portrayal of adolescent life.
