Kofi Annan
Kofi Annan was a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006. Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize. He was known for his work in promoting peace, advocating for human rights, and his efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. After his tenure at the UN, he continued to work on international development, peace, and humanitarian issues through the Kofi Annan Foundation.
