George Lyttelton

George Lyttelton (1709–1773) was an English statesman, poet, and writer. He was a patron of the arts and a member of the Whig party. Lyttelton served in various political roles, including as Chancellor of the Exchequer. He was also known for his literary contributions, which include works on history and letters, and he was a significant figure in the early development of the novel in England.
