Violet Florence Martin

Violet Florence Martin was an Irish author, born on June 11, 1862, in Ross House, County Galway, Ireland, and died on December 21, 1915. She was best known for her collaboration with her cousin Edith Somerville, with whom she wrote a series of novels and stories under the pen name 'Somerville and Ross.' Their most famous works include 'The Real Charlotte' and 'Some Experiences of an Irish R.M.' Martin's writing is characterized by its humor, vivid depiction of Irish life, and insightful social commentary. Despite her success, she has often been overshadowed by her collaborator Somerville.
