H. Beam Piper

H. Beam Piper was an American science fiction author known for his extensive Terro-Human Future History series of stories and a shorter series of 'Paratime' alternate history tales. He was largely self-educated and gained his knowledge through reading and life experiences, which is reflected in his writing. Piper's most famous work is the novel 'Little Fuzzy' (1962), which explores themes of sapience and sentience. He had a noted interest in history, which is evident in his carefully constructed fictional universes. Piper's career was marked by a tragic end when he took his own life in 1964.
