Per Wahlöö

Per Wahlöö was a Swedish author and journalist, best known for his collaborative work with his partner Maj Sjöwall on a series of detective novels featuring the character Martin Beck. These novels, often referred to as the 'Martin Beck series', are considered classics in the genre of police procedural detective fiction. Wahlöö's writing was characterized by its social critique and exploration of the Swedish welfare state. He was born on August 5, 1926, and passed away on June 22, 1975.
