Lucy Ellmann

Lucy Ellmann is an American-born British novelist known for her innovative narrative style and detailed, often stream-of-consciousness prose. Her most notable work is 'Ducks, Newburyport' (2019), which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize and is characterized by its almost thousand-page single sentence structure. Ellmann's other works often explore themes of domesticity, feminism, and the human condition. She is the daughter of the literary critic and biographer Richard Ellmann and the writer Mary Ellmann.
