Karl Edward Wagner

Karl Edward Wagner was an American writer, poet, editor, and publisher of horror, science fiction, and fantasy literature. He is perhaps best known for his creation of the character Kane, a savage anti-hero based loosely on the biblical Cain. Wagner's work is noted for its dark themes and its reimagining of the sword and sorcery genre. He was also the owner of Carcosa Press, which published a number of influential anthologies and collections in the horror and fantasy genres. Wagner's contributions to the field were recognized with several awards, including the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement.
