Merce Rodoreda

Mercè Rodoreda i Gurguí was a prominent Catalan novelist and playwright, considered by many to be the most important Catalan writer of the postwar period. Her work has been translated into over 30 languages. Rodoreda's most famous novel is 'La plaça del Diamant' ('The Time of the Doves'), which explores the life of a young woman before, during, and after the Spanish Civil War.
