Alexander Vvedensky

Alexander Vvedensky was a Russian poet, playwright, and a key figure of the Russian avant-garde in the early 20th century. He was a member of the OBERIU group, which sought to create an absurd, non-linear form of literature that defied traditional narrative structures. Vvedensky's work was suppressed by Soviet authorities, and he was arrested multiple times, dying in transit to a labor camp in 1941. His writings, which blend philosophical reflection with nonsensical whimsy, have been influential in modernist and absurdist literature.
