Raden Adjeng Kartini

Raden Adjeng Kartini was an Indonesian national heroine and a pioneer in the area of women's rights for Indonesians. Born on April 21, 1879, in Java, then part of the Dutch East Indies, she was an advocate for female education and emancipation at a time when such views were highly progressive.
