Robert E. Howard

Robert E. Howard was an American author of pulp fiction, best known for creating the character Conan the Barbarian. Born on January 22, 1906, in Peaster, Texas, Howard spent most of his life in the town of Cross Plains. His work spans a wide range of genres, including fantasy, horror, and historical adventure. Howard is considered one of the fathers of the sword and sorcery subgenre and has had a significant influence on modern fantasy literature. He tragically ended his life on June 11, 1936, at the age of 30.
