Bill Browder

Bill Browder is an American-born British financier and political activist. He is the CEO and co-founder of Hermitage Capital Management, an investment fund that at one time was the largest foreign portfolio investor in Russia. Browder is known for his campaign against corruption and human rights abuses in Russia, which intensified after the death of his lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, in a Moscow prison in 2009. Following this event, he has been a leading advocate for the Magnitsky Act, a law that imposes sanctions on Russian officials implicated in human rights abuses. Browder has written a book titled 'Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man's Fight for Justice' detailing his experiences in Russia and his work on the Magnitsky Act.
