Federal Writers' Project
The Federal Writers' Project was a United States federal government project created to provide employment for historians, teachers, writers, librarians, and other white-collar workers during the Great Depression. It was part of the Works Progress Administration, a New Deal program. It was not an individual author, but a program that produced a wide range of written works, including state guides, city guides, local histories, oral histories, ethnographies, and children's books.
