César Chávez

César Chávez was a prominent Latino American civil rights activist and labor leader. He co-founded the National Farm Workers Association (later the United Farm Workers union, UFW) and worked tirelessly to improve working conditions for farm workers and to fight for their rights. His methods included nonviolent protests, strikes, and boycotts. Chávez's work led to numerous improvements for union laborers and he became an iconic figure in the Latino community. He is also known for his slogan 'Sí, se puede' (Yes, it can be done).
