Frank Conroy

Frank Conroy was an American author, born on January 15, 1936, and passed away on April 6, 2005. He is best known for his autobiographical work 'Stop-Time', published in 1967, which received critical acclaim and was nominated for a National Book Award. Conroy's literary contributions also include a collection of short stories and several other novels. Beyond his writing, he played a significant role in the literary community as the director of the prestigious Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa, where he served from 1987 until his death in 2005. His leadership at the Workshop helped shape the careers of many successful writers.
