Michael Gold

Michael Gold (1894–1967) was the pen name of Itzok Isaac Granich, an American author and literary critic. A prominent figure in socialist and communist circles, Gold is best known for his 1930 novel 'Jews Without Money', a semi-autobiographical account of growing up in the impoverished Jewish Lower East Side of Manhattan. His work is characterized by its passionate advocacy for the working class and its critique of social injustice.
