Louis Sachar

Louis Sachar is an American author known for his work targeting children and young adults. He is best known for the 'Wayside School' series and the novel 'Holes', for which he won the 1998 U.S. National Book Award for Young People's Literature and the 1999 Newbery Medal. His work often combines elements of humor, mystery, and unconventional learning experiences. 'Holes' was also adapted into a film in 2003.
