Gene Roberts

Gene Roberts is an acclaimed American journalist and author known for his significant contributions to newspaper journalism. He served as the executive editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer from 1972 to 1990, where he led the paper to win 17 Pulitzer Prizes. Roberts is also known for his work as the managing editor of The New York Times from 1994 to 1997. In addition to his editorial career, he co-authored 'The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation,' which won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for History.
