Pope John XXIII

Pope John XXIII, born Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, was the head of the Catholic Church from 28 October 1958 until his death on 3 June 1963. He is best known for convening the Second Vatican Council, commonly known as Vatican II, which brought significant reforms to the Church. Although not a prolific author in the traditional sense, his encyclicals, such as 'Mater et Magistra' and 'Pacem in Terris,' and other writings have had a profound impact on Catholic doctrine and the broader Christian world.
