Confucius

Confucius was a Chinese philosopher and politician of the Spring and Autumn period who is traditionally considered the paragon of Chinese sages. His teachings and philosophy, known as Confucianism, emphasized personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice, and sincerity. His thoughts have been developed into a system of philosophy known as Confucianism. He is also known by the Latinized version of his name, Confucius, which was coined by Jesuit missionaries in the 16th century. His works are studied by scholars around the world and have had a profound influence on both Chinese and East Asian intellectual and cultural history.
