Fred Albert Shannon

Fred Albert Shannon (1893–1963) was an American historian and author known for his work on the economic history of the United States, particularly during the Civil War and Reconstruction eras. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1929 for his book 'The Organization and Administration of the Union Army, 1861–1865.' Shannon was a professor of history and contributed significantly to the field through his research and writings.
