Margaret Clapp

Margaret Clapp (1901–1974) was an American scholar, educator, and college president. She served as the president of Wellesley College from 1949 to 1966. Clapp was known for her contributions to higher education for women and her expertise in the field of Elizabethan literature. Under her leadership, Wellesley College flourished, and she played a significant role in promoting academic excellence and expanding opportunities for women in higher education.
