George Frost Kennan

George Frost Kennan (1904–2005) was an American diplomat and historian. He is best known for his role in shaping U.S. foreign policy during the early Cold War and his advocacy of a policy of containment to prevent the spread of Soviet influence. Kennan served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia and was a key figure in the development of the Marshall Plan. He was also a prolific writer, authoring numerous books and articles on international relations and history.
