Richard Fariña

Richard Fariña was an American writer and folksinger. Born on March 8, 1937, he is best known for his novel 'Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me' and his association with the early 1960s American folk music revival. Fariña was also known for his marriage to folksinger Mimi Baez, sister of Joan Baez. His promising literary and musical career was cut short by his untimely death in a motorcycle accident on April 30, 1966, just two days after the publication of his novel.
