P. D. James

P. D. James, full name Phyllis Dorothy James, was an English crime writer known for her series of detective novels featuring police commander and poet Adam Dalgliesh. She was born on August 3, 1920, in Oxford, England, and passed away on November 27, 2014. James's works are known for their intelligent plotting, depth of character development, and moral concerns. She was also a life peer in the House of Lords, known as Baroness James of Holland Park.
