Karin Boye

Karin Boye was a Swedish poet and novelist, widely recognized for her lyrical poetry and her novel 'Kallocain'. Born on October 26, 1900, in Gothenburg, Sweden, she became one of the most prominent literary figures in Swedish modernist literature. Her work often explored themes of nature, love, and human psychology, and she is also known for her deep personal reflections and existential concerns. Boye's legacy includes her influence on Swedish literature and her role as a pioneering figure for women and LGBTQ+ individuals in the literary world. She tragically ended her own life on April 24, 1941.
