Luis Cernuda

Luis Cernuda was a Spanish poet and literary critic, a member of the Generation of '27, a group of prominent poets that arose in Spanish literature in the 1920s. Born on September 21, 1902, in Seville, Spain, he is known for his deeply introspective and existential poetry that explored themes of love, solitude, and the search for identity. His work was heavily influenced by surrealism and symbolism, and he is considered one of the most important Spanish poets of the 20th century. Cernuda lived in exile for much of his life, due to the Spanish Civil War and his sexual orientation, and he died on November 5, 1963, in Mexico.
