Andrew Marvell

Andrew Marvell was an English metaphysical poet, satirist, and politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1659 and 1678. He was born on March 31, 1621, in Winestead-in-Holderness, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, and died on August 16, 1678. Marvell is best known for his lyrical poetry, including poems like 'To His Coy Mistress' and 'The Garden'. His work is noted for its wit, stylistic elegance, and thematic complexity. Marvell was also a colleague and friend of the poet John Milton.
