J. Crevecoeur

J. Hector St. John de Crèvecoeur, known as J. Crevecoeur, was a French-American writer famous for his work 'Letters from an American Farmer' (1782). In this collection of essays, he explored life on the American frontier and the emerging American society. His work provided valuable insights into the early period of the United States and is considered an important early example of American literature.
