Rómulo Gallegos

Rómulo Gallegos was a prominent Venezuelan novelist and politician. He is best known for his novel 'Doña Bárbara,' which has become a classic of Latin American literature, depicting the conflict between civilization and barbarism. Gallegos served as the President of Venezuela in 1948 but was overthrown by a military coup after a few months in office. His literary work is celebrated for its exploration of Venezuelan identity, culture, and the social issues of his time.
