Robert Smirke

Robert Smirke (1752–1845) was a British painter and illustrator, known for his works in the neoclassical style. He specialized in literary and historical scenes, and his illustrations adorned the pages of books such as 'Don Quixote' and 'The Pilgrim's Progress'. Smirke was also a member of the Royal Academy.
