Pierre Souvestre

Pierre Souvestre was a French lawyer, journalist, writer, and organizer of motor races. He is best known for co-creating the fictional detective Fantômas with his writing partner Marcel Allain. The Fantômas series was very popular and influential in the early 20th century. Souvestre wrote numerous other novels and books on various subjects before his untimely death in 1914.
