Fernando Vallejo

Fernando Vallejo is a Colombian-born author, filmmaker, and essayist, known for his critical stance against the Catholic Church and Colombian politics. He is recognized for his contributions to Colombian literature and his works often explore themes of violence and despair. Vallejo's notable works include 'La virgen de los sicarios' (Our Lady of the Assassins), which was adapted into a film, and 'El desbarrancadero' (The Precipice). He has also been awarded the Rómulo Gallegos Prize for his novel 'El desbarrancadero'. Vallejo has lived in Mexico for many years and has acquired Mexican citizenship.
