Christianna Brand

Christianna Brand (1907–1988) was a British crime writer and children's author, best known for her series of detective novels featuring Inspector Cockrill. Her most famous works include 'Green for Danger' and 'Death in High Heels'. Brand's writing is characterized by its well-crafted plots, vivid characterizations, and unexpected twists. She was also the creator of the children's character Nurse Matilda, which inspired the 'Nanny McPhee' movies.
