G. Oliver Onions was a British writer known for his novels and short stories, particularly in the genres of horror and psychological thrillers. Born George Oliver Onions on November 13, 1873, he legally changed his name to George Oliver in 1918. He is best remembered for his ghost stories, the most famous of which is 'The Beckoning Fair One,' considered a classic of the genre. Onions wrote over 40 novels and numerous short stories during his career. He passed away on April 9, 1961.
