Morris West

Morris West was an Australian novelist and playwright, best known for his works that often revolved around the Catholic Church and its role in international politics. Born on April 26, 1916, in St Kilda, Victoria, he became one of the most successful Australian authors of his time. His books were published in 28 languages and sold more than 60 million copies worldwide. Some of his most famous novels include 'The Devil's Advocate' (1959), 'The Shoes of the Fisherman' (1963), and 'The Clowns of God' (1981). West's writing was notable for its exploration of moral and ethical dilemmas, and he was praised for his ability to craft compelling stories with deep philosophical and theological underpinnings. He passed away on October 9, 1999.
