Charlotte Jay

Charlotte Jay was the pseudonym of Australian mystery writer and novelist Geraldine Halls (17 December 1919 – 27 October 1996). She is considered one of the early pioneers of the psychological thriller. Her best-known work, 'Beat Not the Bones', won the inaugural Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Novel in 1954. Her writing is characterized by its rich descriptions of exotic locations and deep psychological insight.
